Our mission
To promote peace and international understanding while improving cross-cultural awareness, engaging diversities, and bridging communities.
ICCs act as a bridge between nations, facilitating dialogue and collaboration on various projects. These committees encourage the formation of sister club networks, conduct Friendship Exchanges, and initiate international service and vocational projects. They can help clubs find partners in other countries for Global Grants. Through these activities, ICCs enhance the effectiveness of Rotary’s programs, supporting the seven areas of focus and promoting peace.
The mission of Intercountry Committees (ICCs) is to foster global peace, international understanding, and goodwill through cross-cultural collaboration and friendship.
As a vital component of Rotary‘s internal service, ICCs connect districts and clubs from different countries, encouraging Rotarians and Rotaractors to engage in meaningful exchanges.
By visiting each other’s countries and homes, Rotarians build lasting relationships that transcend borders and cultural differences.
The simple and flexible structure of ICCs allows for strong ties between partnering countries, creating a valuable network of contacts for clubs and districts. By sharing expertise and resources, Rotarians involved in ICCs help address the needs of partner countries, bringing their unique professional experiences to the table. This collaborative spirit not only strengthens social, economic, political, and cultural relations but also ensures continuity in developing long-term positive relationships.
Today, more than 400 ICC sections all over the world provide significant support to all programs of Rotary and the Rotary Foundation. They help increase the effectiveness of the international service in our seven area of focus.
ICCs embody the international character of Rotary International. They serve as virtual embassies, providing forums for intercultural dialogue and concrete assistance to communities worldwide. In doing so, ICCs empower Rotarians and Rotaractors to act as ambassadors of peace, embracing and respecting diverse beliefs and cultures while working together towards a harmonious global community.
