Annemarie is a Social Entrepreneur, Director and CEO of various Business Enterprises and NGOs in Southern Africa and serves on the advisory committee for The Desmond Tutu Foundation to End Global Hunger, an economic development programme, alongside various international thought leaders.
She joined Rotary International 28 years ago, is a Past District Governor and serves on Clubs, District, Regional, Zone levels and for Rotary International (RI). She is a charter member of the Rotary Artificial Intelligence Fellowship, the Rotary Action Group for Girls’ Empowerment, and a board member of My Body is My Body (MBIMB), a global movement for child safety. Annemarie is the Rotary Strategic Plan Team Lead for Africa and has received the Services Above Self award, the highest recognition bestowed on a Rotarian. She has recently received the Honourary Chieftaincy Title of UGO SE MBA UMUERI from His Royal Majesty Igwe Sit Benneth Izuchukwu Emeka JP, Oke-Ebo 11 of Umueri Kingdom and Igwe Council.
In November 2016, she received the RI United Nations Responsible Business Owner Award in New York, a recognition bestowed on only six business owners in the world. She is also co-author of Inspirational Women@Work endorsed by Graça Machel and Oprah Winfrey.
Annemarie was the 2024 Woman of Stature South Africa winner in Education and Training and Overall winner in 12 categories. She completed her degrees in Education at University of Pretoria in 1979 and has completed an MBA at Regenesys Business School 2024/2026 and currently enrolled for Doctor of Business Management. She also served on the advisory board of the business school’s academic council. She serves on the advisory board of the Desmond Tutu Programme to End Global Hunger, and economic development programme, as well as the academic board of Regenesys business school.
Annemarie is a member of RAGCED CADRE of Technical advisors, Peace and Conflict Prevention as well as Basic Education and Literacy, leads Intercountry Committees (ICC) as President of the Executive Board of the Executive Council for 2026-2028, a collaborative global recourse network for Districts in Positive Peace Building.
She is the Chairperson of Sesego Foundation, CEO of Mila Services Pty Ltd. and Director of One World Fresh Africa.
