Welcome the Rome, Italy Section, D2080 of the International Fellowship of Rotarians Musicians (IFRM)
MUSIC UNITES, ROTARY INSPIRES !The birth of the Rome, Italy Section, D2080 of IFRM, dearest friends, is a real demonstration of the power and of the magic of Rotary, thank to the fundamental contribution of the Rotarians, Jenny Elisabeth Bohlin, Section Chair ICC for Italy, Malta, San Marino – India, and the precious supervision of the Rotarian, Sanjeev Sethi, Advisor IFRM India Section Head-Bolivia ICC, that generously, last June, proposed me to become the Chairman of IFRM Section of Rome D2080.
I immediately accepted the challenge and asked kindly to my best friends, Music Lovers, mainly Rotarians and Rotaractors, beginning with my second daughter, Rotaractor Angelica Aureli, harpist and singer, ending to my not Rotarians and Musicians best friends to join in the IFRM Section of Rome D2080. The most part of them, around twenty persons, answered positively to my request and on the seventh of July we were formally recognized as Rome IFRM Section, D2080, by the Board of IFRM and His Global Chair, D3206, Rotarian Padmamabhan Iyer.
The main purpose of our Sectionwill be to promote the use and appreciation of all kinds of Music in Rotary and Rotaract Clubs by Rotarians and Rotaractors, creating Harmony and bringing Peace with Music Projects and Concerts, mainly youth-oriented, in Rome, in the Rotary District and around the World, opened to a positive contamination and mutual exchange and contribution with other different music traditions. The highest and final our objective, in accordance with IFRM Mission, will be encourage world understanding that Music is a sublime universal language, that inspires peaceful coexistence among people.
