Strengthening Bridges Across Borders: Guatemala • Belize • Honduras • Canada – USA
By Nevine Yassa – ICC National Chair Canada
One of the true strengths of Rotary is the opportunity to build friendships that reach far beyond our own communities. Our recent ICC meeting brought together Rotarians from Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Canada for a wonderful exchange of ideas, experiences and opportunities for collaboration.
Each country shared updates on Rotary projects, recent visits, upcoming initiatives and future travel plans, giving us a wonderful glimpse into the work being done by Rotarians across our four countries.
But the meeting was about much more than projects. It was about friendship.
We talked about how visits between our countries can help us strengthen our International Friendship and Cooperation, experience one another’s cultures, and create lasting relationships among Rotarians and their families. There is something very special about meeting fellow Rotarians in person, visiting their clubs and communities, and sharing the Rotary spirit together.
An Invitation to Discover Belize
A special invitation was extended to Rotarians to consider travelling to Belize in the future. Such visits provide a wonderful opportunity to discover this beautiful country while getting to know our fellow Rotarians on a more personal level.
Imagine combining travel, friendship, culture and Rotary service — visiting local clubs, learning about community projects, experiencing the country, and sharing fellowship with Rotarians from across the region.
These exchanges are what make the ICC so meaningful. They transform contacts between countries into friendships between people.
As we look ahead, we hope to see more Rotarians travelling between Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Canada, strengthening our connections and creating new opportunities for cooperation and friendship.
Four countries. One Rotary family. Many opportunities to build lasting friendships.
We look forward to continuing the journey together – one visit, one project and one friendship at a time.
